Route 331 upgrade

Featured Replies

Just for general info.

Yesterday I used the Bhudda Mtn road from Patts over to the 331.

At the moment both the old and the new sections are being used and although large signs are in place not everyone is following the directions.

Just be aware that on some areas you will think it's one way and it's not etc.

At the junction of the two roads yesterday one large truck had T-boned another and it ended up with both sections being used, old and new, for two way traffic many of the drivers thinking they were on one way systems.

Be aware.

Mods move if this isn't the best place for the post.

Probably better in the Pattaya section?

Fortunately I have only had to cross part of it recently but thanks for the heads up.

went through there on Sunday arvo and it was chaotic; cars, trucks and bikes going in all sorts of directions and at all sorts of angles to get across the junction.

Another warning if you are going down the road that goes through Viharn Sien onto 331 (the road before Buddha Hill/Silver Lake), due to a slight rise in the road you cannot see the dirt section at the junction with the new 331 road where they haven't finished construction. The typical Thai road upgrade where they fix a road but leave about 2 meters of the side road junction in total disrepair for months/years. What's with that!

Maybe because the main road is "owned" by another authority than the side road.....?

The road is not accepted by the Government for completion payout until it agrees to the completion of the connecting small section. See it all over the place

Forgot to mention that part where you join the 331 from Bhudda Mtn road at the moment the hard surface ends and it feels like a 1 foot drop off the end. It's not easy to see but it sure wakes you up.
