Man drowns during Banglamung floods

PATTAYA: -- On September 22 Banglamung police and Sawang Boriboon Rescue Servives were call to an incident at Ban Banglamung Railway Station where it appears a man has drowned.

 

At the scene fifty-nine year old Mr Pirom Yindee was lifeless and medics estimated he had been dead for thirty-minutes.

 

His sister, sixty-five year old Ms Boonruang Yindee, said that the heavy rain on the previous evening had caused flooding in front of their house and her brother had suggested covering the drain opposite the station about one-kilometer along the road.

 

It has been assumed that he was sucked into the drain and drowned.

How many times have we seen drains left open.

This should  never have happened.

Shame on those that are responsible for this mans death.

If you notice that a drain very close to your home is spitting tons of water, presumably flooding your premises, the first thought may be: close the damn drain.

On a second thought you will see that the water will come anyway.

Or if a drain appears blocked, to clear away the blockage. The weight of the water behind would make this dangerous. A grill stops a person being sucked through, but also conributes to the blocking.
