BANGKOK:-- Pathum Thani province is bracing itself for the arrival of water mass discharged from Pasak Cholasit dam in Lop Buri through Klong Rapeepat.

Pathum Thani governor Surachai Khan-arsa led officials concerned, including those in charge of drainage and public disaster relief, to inspect areas between Klong Rangsitprayoonsuk and Klong 13 to be used to drain water mass from Pasak Cholasit dam.

Irrigation officials have increased the amount of water released from the day from 40 million cubic metres a day to 50 million cubic metres because the dam is nearing its full holding capacity and more rains are anticipated in the coming days.

Governor Surachai said the most important thing to do in water management is to speed up the flow of excess water to save the rice farmland and residential areas and also Bangkok.
