KORAT — A magnitude-3 earthquake shook the northeastern province of Nakhon Ratchasima but did not affect a large dam there, officials said Saturday.

The quake which struck at 11pm on Friday night had an epicenter in the Pak Chong district, according to the Meteorological Department. It was felt by many in the region, who quickly took to social media to express surprise.

They have had some big ones here too but not many or often. California is due for a big one, but hard to say.

An earth quake is an earth quake,  I felt a small one when I was in Long Beach area, I was mighty

happy that I spent that night aboard the Queen Mary.   I would rather be in Thailand for the next quake,

as maybe one of the next quakes in California may be a big one. Just saying!

I hope the weather in Thailand is nice from January to March.  Vacation time is nearing!
