UK Visa ECO Based in Bangkok Or The UK?

Hi,

 

Does anyone know if the ECO who reviews documents for a UK Spouse Settlement Visa is based in Bangkok or are all the documents sent to the UK to be inspected?

 

It looks like my most recent, within-28-days bank statement will have to be a downloaded PDF since the bank sent the wrong one and we're running out of time. I plan to explain that the original is on its way and that we can supply it at a later date, but it seems silly to send it all the way here if it's only going to be sent back to the UK and my folks in the UK could just send it directly to them.

Yes, they're based in Bangkok, they could be posted for a tour of duty from the UK or could be locally employed.

Download and print the PDF and pop into the bank and get them to stamp it. I am with Santander and they stamped a whole year of statements while I waited. Both for a Settlement visa and FLR.

 My friend has been an ECO in Islamabad, Nigeria, Beijing and is now one in India.  Bangkok is the "dream location" and much sought after!!

Thanks for the advice, but I can't mate. No Nationwide branches out here in rural Laos!

Get your folks to do it and scan it, email you a PDF, and get it printed at the local copy shop. Just explain what you have done because your bank couldn’t do it in time but point out that all the others are original.

The right statement did eventually turn up on Monday morning so I'm now just hoping DHL can get it here by tomorrow morning. I have printed the scan of it out just in case they don't. I'm sure it'll be fine!
