Thai Red Cross Anonymous Clinic

Featured Replies

My girlfriend has been diagnosed with HIV a couple of years ago. She is currently on a drug called Atripla. Everything is fine and the virus in under control.

Now I have heard that the Red Cross Clinic sells a locally produced version of Atripla called Teevir for roughly 1100 THB. That would really cut our cost to almost nothing.

My question therefore is: Can I obtain a prescription for Teevir at the Red Cross Clinic or do I have to go to a specific hospital first to obtain a prescription?

Thank you for your attention.

Assume your GF is not Thai?  As if she were, could get free treatment at government hoxsputal.

The Thai red Cross does have a doctor on duty who can if necessary rpescribe but they are pretty overworked so it is appreciated if one can bring script along.

If the meds were  prescribed  for her by a doctor back home and she has evidence of that (e.g. a prescription med bottle ) posisble that might suffice.

Thank you for your answer!

I should have clarified better: My girlfriend is Thai.

At the moment she is being treated at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. I really love the service and especially the doctor there. The checkup with viral load, cd4 and general blood tests just comes to roughly 3500 THB per 6 month. However if I could outsource the drug costs, that would be fantastic! So if our doctor writes my girlfriend a prescription then she could file it at the Red Cross Clinic?
