I posted here before saying my gp found Haemolytic Strep in my urine, and I was given antibiotics for 10 days, turns out the GPs are not sure if the bacteria was found in my urine or urethral swab, anyway the antibiotics didn't do anything and I'm still having discomfort around my groin area, above my pubic bone, like an annoying ache or soreness, not extreme pain. I sometimes get pain while urinating but I have not noticed any blood in my urine. the other day I had a sharp pain in my penis on and off, only lasted a couple of minutes then went away. I am also feeling the need to urinate after urinating, mainly at night when I go to bed. I'll pee, go back to bed, then feel the need to pee again.

From my memory this started after having sex back in June in Pattaya, I wore a condom, but I have had HIV, swab and urine tests in September and its all negative,  I also have tingling sensations on my testicles and perineum sometimes, it comes and goes.  I am not sure what it is yet, saw my GP 2 days ago and she she has asked for another urine test and a stool test, and asked me to measure my water intake and how much I pee out, she will refer me to a Urologist but its like 3-4 month waiting time here in England.

At the moment I think it could be Candida/yeast overgrowth infection or parasites,  when I saw a doc in bkk christian hospital about it he done urine test and said it was over active bladder, put me on some pills, but they didn't do anything. Just starting to worry about cancer ...I'm only 25 years old, skinny guy thats been mostly vegan/vegetarian for the last 3 years.

First, don't over worry things. There are endless reasons for feelings in your body. If it is an STD you can deal with it. It really could be anything. Someone with more knowledge of this or medicine should post soon. I've had feelings like you mentioned in my groin and penis and they disappeared over time. Older men often have issues with peeing more often at night. I had that and it just disappeared with time too. If you are drinking a lot and peeing then drinking water after peeing you may have to go again. For me I noticed the peeing seems to have disappeared after dealing with my high blood pressure. There really could be a lot of reasons why it was happening. Just take it easy and don't think too much.

my father had bladder cancer.  He had blood in the urine and ignored it for a few days.  I flew down and took him to the doctor.  The word was bladder cancer is one of the most aggressive and  if it spreads things go down hill very fast.  This was on a Friday.  Monday morning they did the surgery and were able to remove the cancer, as I recall it was small enough so they went in through the penis.  Dad was cured instantly.  So I recommend a proper diagnosis and screening ASAP.  My Dad had been a chain smoker for 50 years.  He stopped that weekend.  That alone was a miracle.  He was 65 at the time and live to 80

1) Was any blood found in your urine during lab testing ?

2) There is a simple way to determine if you have cancer of the bladder. Get a cystoscopy. I have had one and while the process is not pleasant it can eliminate bladder, urethra, and some prostate issues as the cause by visual inspection. The bonus is you get to see it on a video screen if you should choose to watch. It is a quick outpatient procedure no hospital stay although you will find it unpleasant it is is well worth the peace of mind.

Actually abdominal ultrasound is often used as a first test for bladder cancer or other issues in the region - been there.  That is likely cheaper and much less unpleasant first step.  But agree cystoscopy would be next if anything found but as said it is a bit unpleasant (mostly the filling of bladder so they can look around and the natural feeling you need to expel it).  But if anything found they can take a biopsy at same time.  But as said normally such cancer is bleeding well before causing pain I believe (but am not a doctor).  Also such cancer can be slow or fast growing the same as most other cancers.  But mine was slow according to cystoscopy biopsy and fast according to actual after surgery removal  of bladder so probably best to treat anything found as if it were fast.

But as said if doctors do not feel cancer is likely they are probably right as they are actually treating you.

You would have had at east a few urinalysis done and if they did not show blood,  bladder cancer is unlikely.

There are many possible causes for what you describe, and bladder cancer is one of the least likely. It does not usually present with the symptoms you mention (tingling in penis, testicles etc). Which is why you have such a long wait - there is no clinical reason to suspect this is anything serious.

But if you are unable to get the cancer idea out of your mind, pay privately and see a urologist sooner.

it could be a UTI, possibly yeast infection, I'll take a natural anti fungal and d mannose, cranberry juice, and see how I feel.

as I said, this all started after sex I think, I had unprotected anal sex with a girl (in the UK)in March this year and that's when I first felt some discomfort in my groin area but then it went away after 3-4 days,  then I had unprotected sex with a thai woman (not prostitute) in April and my condom broke while having sex with a prostitute in koh samuii in April also, but I felt fine around that time, then in June I had sex with a bar girl in Pattaya, wore a condom for sex but not for oral sex, then 1 or 2 days after that I got this groin discomfort and it hasn't gone away since.

First of all stop worrying. Follow your GP's advice. Nobody on TVF can really help with your treatment. Meanwhile maybe you should refrain from rutting strange women up the jacksy.

From what you describe, both here and in other threads, these sexual encounters may have triggered (or worsened) an anxiety disorder and you are excessively focused on sensations in the perineal area. If you concentrate too much on any body part you will experience tingling and other sensations, and if you are convinced you must have a serious disease, no amount of negative test results will reassure you.

By all means see the specialist but do not be surprised if they, like the staff in the STI clinic, find nothing wrong. If so, I suggest you consider approaching this as a likely anxiety disorder and getting short- term therapy for it.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, I wasn't focused on my groin area at all before this happened, I was happy and on holiday, not thinking about my body or health at all.  If someone gets symptoms they naturally think about it and want to try and cure it. I know your saying this because my urine tests and std tests in the past have come back negative, but that doesn't mean it is anxiety disorder, could be nerve, pelvic/lumbar spine issues. cystitis etc..actually I had a bad bicycle fall in December last year and have been told by a very well known chiropractor that I have lumbar spine issue, possibly uneven pelvis, so who knows, I agree that not focusing on a problem all the time is good but I very doubt I have anxiety disorder.

Practice safe sex as much as possible. At least Prostitutes use condoms. The tarts from Surrey  you pick up at a bar probably don't care as much, especially when they are with a "boyfriend".

Yes, you should be using a condom with everyone, not just the pros. Sounds like you have a history of one-night relationships, so it doesn't really matter if the women are pros or not, right?

not really much of a history, I rarely have sex in England, earlier this year I 'got lucky' and a girl from Tinder wanted a <deleted> buddy so I decided to have sex with her. In Thailand I sometimes get lucky and have sex with a girl from online dating website, but not too  much, around 3 times maybe and yeah I've been with around 10 bar girls. Never again though

I phoned my medical centre for my urine and stool test results today and it was negative, normal, so no UTI, which makes me think its a prostate infection now, anyway, my mother is taking me to a chiropractor/physiotherapist doctor next week, she thinks that might help, she thinks my back issues or a possible pelvic issue is causing this discomfort/pain (I had a bicycle accident in December last year, fell off my bike going downhill)

I remember when I was in Bangkok seeing a doctor about this problem he gave me a drug called Phenadrine, which made my urine very orange colour, I masturbated while taking this drug and my semen was very yellow, not sure if that was the drug or a possible sign of infection, told doctor about it and he said I should test my semen as drug only changed urine colour not semen, after I ended the drug, my semen eventually went back to normal colour. never got my semen tested.

just an update.I'm still have the discomfort around my genital area, urine flow seems normal, sometimes have a dull ache on my perineum area, I  have a mild ache/pain on my inner thighs, still have the tingling sensations on testicles and perineum sometimes, no pain when ejaculating, no blood in semen and urine.I'm sleeping fine. urine frequency is quite normal I think, though holding urine in  is uncomfortable, I hate holding in my urine.

I have had bladder cancer - an impressive case I was told - and what Sheryl said above is absolutely correct.

All cancer or suspected cancer sufferers are fast tracked in the Government initiative. I had a biopsy in Dubai which was positive (melanoma) and within 10 days of seeing my GP in the UK had an appointment with Plastics and within a fortnight I was having a wider excision which showed the tumour had been removed during the biopsy. Follow ups with oncology on the nail every 3 months at James Cook Middlesbrough. Excellent service NHS, so far so good
