W10 Touchpad blocker stopped

Featured Replies

When I had the same problem with Acer laptop= I use mouse exclusively, touchpad was hypersensitive

would react to the slightest movement nearby........unstoppable, nothing worked.

Now all of a sudden same problem with my ASUS 305-

Even this app has zero effect     touch.GIF

I can only guess another one of these beloved Windows 10 updates

BEFORE I BECOME HYSTERICAL = ANY PERMANET SOLUTION

Has ASUS eliminated the Press [Fn] and [F9] in this new age of laptops?

You do that every time you want to type something?

It can´t be Asus because it happened on AcerOne too

On some Acer laptops its key combination Fn - F7 which (de)activates the touchpad after boot. But that may also depend upon the version of the touchpad driver installed and additional user settings which may or may not be present and activated automatically during boot such as soon as a mouse has been detected the touchpad will or will not be disabled automatically. Sometimes, on recent 64-Bit Windows 10 operating systems on laptops the oldest available 64-Bit OEM Vista drivers must be reinstalled to get this additional functionality working again.

Reading through above it might explain the natur of the problem, which seems to be mine=

Due to an old injury my right wrist will often be very close or even the touchpad involutarily. While typing or performing other tasks.  Thereby activating the touchpad against

my wish.

If you agree than the only easy solution will be to put some thin material over the touchpad so that there will be no electro-conductivity.  OR????

If you want to disable the touchpad completely, just do it through device manager.

I am close to being suicidal. I`ve been in a permanent Unstall Mode of the Asus Touchpad. The more often I uninstall the quicker my lovely Asus re-installs the pad by itself.

A disable function would prevent that, unavailable.

,

I covered the pad with thick brown paper, of course samsame

then by plastic from a folder, I knew it= conductivity unaffected.

What to take as cover? Aluminum foil? Thick rubber? IMac?

Touchpads are connected with a small ribbon cable which is easy to disconnect from the mainboard.

It depends on the construction of your model but typically you need to undo a few screws and take the bottom cover off to get access.

Guaranteed ASUS won't be able to undo that.

Is there no way to stop any updates to my computer while working?

Once you've done this months, they only happen monthly. What's the big deal?

And for the Touchpad, in Device manager, right click the Touchpad and "Disable Device" from there. You don't need to uninstall.

There is no Disable option

It´s not monthly, wish you where right.

Minutes after Touchpad unistalled and dully PC restarted   Asus will instal the missing item.

I tried x times to trick the bloody thing out.

Eh?

That's strange.

Try Right Click, Properties, Driver. You should see a Disable button.

And as I said, *after* this months updates.

Once you have applied all updates, Microsoft are only providing a single, monthly rollup.

Crack on and do the updates, if nothing else but to fix security holes.
