Hi guys, i don't know where to post this. Maybe it can be put in a useful contacts post. Tried to do a search relevant to driving in the UK but couldn't find one. So if i put it in here it can be posted elsewhere.

I found this interesting link yesterday on the DVLA website. I thought i would have to wait until my Mrs reading and writing skills had improved before she could sit her UK driving test but it seems that isn't the case. There is an option to listen through earphones in 21 different languages for the theory test. Thai isn't one of the 21 languages (although Arabic, Bengali, Dari, Farsi, Gujarati, Hindi, Kashmiri, Kurdish, Mirpuri, Punjabi, Tamil and Urdu take up 12 of the versions) :o however, you do have an option for an interpreter.

Thought it might be useful.

Citizenship test guide tops bestseller list

From correspondents in London

October 29, 2007 06:33pm

A GUIDE designed to help immigrants pass Britain's citizenship test has hit the top of the bestseller lists.

The guide, titled Life in the UK, has become the top selling political book of the year, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Despite facing stiff competition from the controversial book by Tony Blair's former press secretary Alaistair Campbell, The Blair Years, the citizenship guide is an official best seller with more than 80,000 copies sold.

Britain's citizenship test is similar to the one introduced this year in Australia.

It quizzes immigrants wanting to become citizens on their knowledge of British culture, politics and customs.

The guide was introduced two years ago by former home secretary David Blunkett amid concerns that immigrants were failing to adapt to life in Britain.
