UK spouse visa

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

My Thai wife is nearly half way through her spouse visa (5 year route), we live in Scotland, we are married and have a 15 month old son born here in the UK (Scotland)

We will be applying for the second visa (extension) early next year,  I'm am concerned about a work situation that I may find myself in, basically I could be out of the country working for 3 months at a time with only 3 weeks at home, and this could last for several years, would this affect her visa application, the fact the her husband (me) is out of the country away from her and our son for very long periods?

many thanks in advance

Willie

Just a matter of interest:

1) Is the company/organization you work for UK-based?

2) Do you get paid in the UK?

Obviously you need a definitive answer but I do know, if your wife spent too long out of the UK it can affect FLR. I've never heard of it the other way around. I would be surprised if it made a difference.

The company is UK based but have operations all over the world....my wages will go into my bank account.
Yeah I know if my wife spent long periods of time out of the UK without me it will affect her visa....but yes rasg I was thinking it shouldn't make a big difference....I know guys that work away and have Thai wives but they are not away for as long as I would be....only 5 weeks and 3 at home.
