Are top schools in Issan hurting for good teachers?

Featured Replies

I'm curious, Bangkok seems to be hurting for good teachers so my hunch is the shortage is pretty severe in Issan.

This is not my reason or interest in upcountry work. I'm kinda sorta looking to get out of the city and the stress. I've never been a big fan of Chiang Mai and there are only a few schools down in Songkla of any stature. Phuket, forget it.

Wife born in BKK, family from Ubon.

I'm primarily interested in the very cream of public and privates in Ubon, Khon Kaen and possibly but not so much Korat.

Salaries for experienced, degreed teachers with work history in top schools?? Public 38++? Private 42.5++?

I'm not interested in working for any but the best schools.

Thank you

Are you asking the right question?

I'd rather know more about the job. 20+  d i f f e r e n t  lessons t prepare? What about the dreaded lesson plans? (Bloom's taxonomy, 7 pages long, ...)?

Can you come and go as you please?

Gotta sign in and sign out at once or twice?

How's your boss, what kind of an operation is this? Are they friendly or full of haters?

I'd rather get a relaxed job somewhere for 33 k than all that stress for 5 k more.

TBH, a good school might offer a very sh*tty deal
