I was riding my 2015 Scoopy, 13000 KMs on it, and while waiting for a red light to change, the engine stopped running. 

 

I was able to start it again, but I'm a little bit concerned about the way it stopped.

 

What could some possible reasons be that it stopped running?

13k and you still don't know about the idle stop!  

Time to read the manual or at least look at the instrument cluster... also time to get back down to earth and not fly high in the sky :)

dirty air filter?

My NV used to do that, faulty pickup turned out as the problem. Took me a year to figure that one out, actually in the end it was Jo Modify who sussed it in seconds. There's experience for you.
