Songthaews still on On Nut Road?

Featured Replies

Hi -- I was considering an apartment (Krongthong Mansion) located on Sukhumvit Soi 77 (On Nut Road).  Unfortunately it is about 1 mile (1.65 kilometers) from Sukhumvit ... and even further from the On Nut BTS.

The apartment house also offers a nightly rate -so- I was thinking about staying there a few nights to check them out before signing a four-month lease ... while also looking around Bangkok at other options.  I don't arrive in Thailand for another month.

Does anyone here know if the songthaews are still running along Soi 77 between Sukhumvit and the Seacon Square Shopping Mall?  This would be the only affordable mode of transport to/from the BTS since I'm not fond of using motorcycle taxis.

Thanks in advance for any information...

There are songthaews on On Nut road going to BTS On Nut and the opposite way to Srinakarin road. There you would need to change to get to Seacon Square.

Many songtao run along Onnut Road. Most go to Prawet area but a few turn at Srinakarin and continue to Season Square. Easy to get any songtao to Srinakrin then cross the road and get one to Seacon if need be. I travel this regularly and never have a problem getting a songtao.

Loads of Songtaews all day and most of the night till quite late.  I live in A space down that way.  Costs about 60 baht in an air con cab to the BTS from where I am.  Much cheaper in a Songtaew.
