(on a 1 month tourist visa, received at Suvanabhumi airport)

!. Can i extend my tourist visa in Bangkok ?  (if yes, what is required for an extension?)

2.    would a 3 day overstay be a problem at Chiang Khong / Hua Xai border? what would be the consequences ?

thank you in advance !

1. You got a 30 day visa exempt entry not a tourist visa that can be extended for 30 days at a immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht. You will need a completed TM7 form with a 4 X 6 cm photo attached, copy of passport photo page, entry stamp and your TM6 departure card.

2. If you get the extension you will not need to overstay. If you had a 3 day overstay the fine would be 1500 baht. The only other consequence would be if you got caught with it before getting to the border crossing.

you can extend a 30 day visa exempt entry for 30 days at local immigration, 1,900 baht ( you can not get a 30 visa)

any over stay runs a risk, but 3 days will cost you 3 x 500 baht 1,500baht

if not already in Thailand you may be denied boarding by your airline, as you do not have a visa or a flight out of Thailand within 30 days.
