Tourist visa in 2017 + overused passport

Featured Replies

I'm wanting to go to Thailand for at least 60 days and longer if possible, I stayed in Thailand a lot through 2010-212 by going to Vientiane for the tourist visa (120days + 60days in extensions). Is that still an option in 2017? And would it be advised that I get a new passport, or is it ok to have multiple stamps and tourist visas?

Two entry tourist visas are no longer available since the multiple entry tourist visa became available last year.

It would be best to get at least a single tourist visa before starting your trip or a multiple entry tourist visa that allows unlimited 60 day entries for 6 months from the date it is issued.

If you entered on a single entry tourist visa it would not be a problem to go to Vientiane for another one,

Fly in, get your 30 day stamp, after 30 days, go to Laos (Savannakhet is the best option, smoother, less stress than Vientiane ) and get your 60 day visa.  When that time is up you can go to Cambodia, I did this and stayed there for 11 days, flew back, got another 30 days and then when that time was up returned to Savannakhet again and got another 60 day TV.  I wasn't asked to provide a bank statement, but it's possible they  might ask, At least $1000 U.S. in your account should satisfy them.
