surprised when i looked at the public holiday list that 3rd Jan is a public/bank holiday,i understand why today is,but do they really need an extra holiday[banks, gov offices ,ect],is not as if Thailand has a shortage of these.

When is the Kingdom back to normal?

Let me rephrase.......when is the land back to regular activities (everything open and running)?

Tomorrow.

And today pretty much everything open and running EXCEPT the bank main branches and the government offices.

Postman riding his bike as usual.

Tesco and MAKRO parking lots at our place were crowded as I have rarely seen before.

(I should add that I avoid leaving the village on 31st and 1st like the plague)
