KRABI: -- Four tourists were taken to hospital after a long tail boat collided with a fishing boat near Koh Porda off Ao Nang, Krabi on Monday evening.

Two of the injured tourists were from Japan while the other two were a Finnish man and his Thai wife. They were all recovering in hospital, reports Thai News Agency.

Yesterday police and harbor authorities interviewed the captains of both vessels and inspected the damage.

They said that the long tail boat had suffered a glancing blow. The captain of the fishing vessel had been instrumental in getting all the injured to shore. There were eight people in total on the smaller vessel.

The long tail boat driver said that he had been unable to see the fishing boat.

Neither of the men involved had drugs in their system.

Investigations continue before authorities decide what action to take.

Then he should quit his job immediately.

He apparently had an appointment booked with his optometrist.

Has anybody noticed, very few Thai people wear glasses?

Yes and even less wear sunglasses, no matter how fast they go in the back of a pickuptruck or motocy...Also at night when there's loads of insects they don't need them.

Glasses don't work if you have a flat nose i guess, they will slip off or don't fit well. Or maybe you can see the flat nose too well, they don't like that.

Never seen thais in that line of work wearing glasses. It's quite possible he didn't see it.
Probably been flying blind for years
