PHUKET: A bus headed from Phuket to Trang flipped on its side and crashed into a power pole in Krabi last night, injuring the driver and 22 passengers on board.

The crash took place on Petch Kasem Road in the Baan Klang sub-district. Capt Suwit Kaewpreecha of Ao Luek Police received the report about 8:30pm.

“It happened on a straight road with no turns, but some part of it is under construction. When we arrived, we saw the pink and white colored bus lying on its side in a small watery ditch. It was badly damaged as it had also hit an electric pole – people were struggling to find their way out of it and were crying in pain,” said the captain.

S44  clearly need here, all pink and white buses must be taken off the road asap.

Also in revieviewing the New Year death toll, motorcyles must be banned, also travelling between 16:00 and 20:00 hrs.

As for speeding, drink/driving and no licence issues, they are clearly a matter for the next government to deal with (ignore).

And my GF wanted to catch a bus home to Trang yesterday to see her family . But I said no cause there are too many bus accidents lately.

........Another One ???? <deleted>???? Nearly every day ,whats wrong with this society?? You see it must be shear shame to adopt the ways of how in the West we control the road tolls. Lets face theres a lot of lose face element attatched to try and adopt another countries ways or be told .Human life seems not valued the same here as in the West . What a shame . I really hope someone in thai power ,Minister of Roads, someone gets to solve this problem ....one day!

^^ Lately?

Got as much chance of crashing if she drove herself.

That's a bit insensitive even from u.

8-30 pm ,that's a bit early to be asleep at the wheel, guessing ok. using a pole as brake that's a new one

Sadly, not as long as your backside points to the ground

The simple answer is, they do not know what to do (or want to know)!

100% ..Correct . Wish they'd read Thai Visa and see what a joke they've become!

This happened on a straight dry road, maybe an hour into the journey, so what made the bus hit an electric pole and roll into a ditch?

The myth that the headline exacerbates is that the vehicle itself somehow "flips over" and courses the crash.
