Thai GF got 3month visa with some doggy practices??

Featured Replies

Hey All, long time reader first time poster, anyway my Thai GF got approved for her 2nd visa to Australia, the first one was 3month single entry which she came over in April last year, so we recently applied for a 6month multiple but were only given a 3month multiple. Any reason they would keep it at 3months or is this standard?

Now for the doggy stuff, we used the same agent in Thailand to do it all for us again, my GF got a phone call from the visa people wanting to know about the email address on her application, seems the Agent put her email address down instead (same as last time apparently).

Now my GF phone dropped signal so she quickly rung the agent to ask what email she put down, the agent said to tell the visa it is your friends and your dont says its an agents email as this is not allowed?? Sounded abit doggy to me, surely there would be no problem with listing an agents email down instead as they are the ones sorting all the info out for you, or am i missing something here?

Thanks

Sounds like you have an unregistered agent. Unregistered agents are not allowed to give immigration advice for a fee IN Australia but it can't be policed or prosecuted here in Thailand .

The risk of using unregistered agents is that you do not have any protection if it all goes pear Shaped. If they are registered with mara then if it goes badly you can complain to mara and they may be sanctioned (suspended, cancelled or barred)

For the email most registered agents do use their emails fo

Sorry my phone is a bit crazy this morning

Most agents do use their own emails for convenience but sometimes they forget to communicate to their client. Keep on top of you agent call often and check the status of you application to ensure everything is ok

The 'visa people' were suspicious and maybe that's why she only got another 3-month visa. Thoroughly recommend NOT using an agent and especially not THIS agent for any future visa applications.

Thanks for the response, this Agent is living in Bangkok I'm not sure of the laws there. I will look into this mara thing you mentioned and find out exactly what email she put on the visa. cheers again

Yeah we will be for sure, apparently the Visa lady has used her email address for alot of clients, which is suss again as surely the visa peoples in Bangkok must see the same email address coming through so why would she not want them to know it was not my GF email address? as the guys said before maybe she is unregistered, lucky to get the 3months tho, cheers
