What are they smoking at FIFA?

He is dutch after all, probably just came out of a coffee shop all bonged up before the announcement.

I agree with him, the offside rule is a bit silly and would lead to more goals if abolished.

& how many times have you seen a player purposely brought down simply because his team are on the break and the defending team are out of position.  Straight reds and sinbin would eliminate a lot of cynical tackles and increase the number of goals in the game.

For me Van Basten is still probably the best striker i've but in his current role he's really going down in my estimations.

Yeah lets make the goals twice as big, that should increase the number of goals as well.

Oh, and make the keepers wear blindfolds.

Just leave the game alone you ar$eholes, you'll ruin it with your scatty ideas.

I once played in the Global  9's tournament in Bangkok for the Thaivisa team.(which we won) But it was 9 aside on a fullside pitch. No offside and no corners. Instead of a corner. You took a freekick on the corner edge of the box. The reason was to increase more goals. The tournie was great. But i dont think many goals were scored from that position. BTW i saved 2 pens in the final.

 very true

As far as offside is concerned, though, FIFA really do need, at very least, to go back to basics and stop faffing around with the law every so often in a seemingly never-ending quest to make it as difficult to understand and enforce on a consistent basis as is humanly possible.
