Does anyone know what member of the Royal family visited Chiang Mai today (1-25-17) and was escorted down Nimmamhaemin Road today at 4 PM? Thanks.

I'm just wondering why Nimmanhaemin Road was blocked off and several official and police vehicles drove by today (Wednesday 1-25-17) at 4:00 P.M. Thanks.

It was the King, he'd been to CM University to hand out degrees at the graduation ceremonies.

Regards,

Joe

You can turn on your TV at 8pm and they give a complete summary of the days royal events

Maybe that's why it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to drive from ChangPuak gate to the police station along Mae Rim road (from 6:00pm to 7:45pm). It usually takes 15 minutes at off-peak hours. I have never seen it that bad...it was a total parking lot.

I don't know if it was him,He did that 2 weeks ago, I know because my stepson was given his degree by the King along with at least 2,000 other students who travelled hundreds of miles to be there in some cases. Can't see that he would still be doing it now but I could be wrong of course. However the Princess was in town on Monday and may very well still be here

The King officiated at the Rajabhat University graduation ceremony a couple of weeks ago; the Princess at CMU earlier this week. There are at least 6 universities in and around the city.

it is common sense to check

if you are at maerim and need to go to airport

to get caught up in traffic 2hr and miss plane

I can tell you that Princess Sirindhorn came to Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao in Lampang early this afternoon (I didn't see her or her entourage but a couple of cops....among the multitude of cops all over the place.....said she would be there shortly) and very shortly thereafter we saw a couple of helicopters near the temple.  She may have come from Chiangmai or returned back to Chiangmai  so my guess it was her.

I was told the Princess was here. I was outside the small restaurant the other day that she allegedly visited for dinner ..off Wang Sing Kam......couldn't believe it.....very very basic.

Still the report was from an eye witness so it might be reliable...

Saw one of the royal planes landing yesterday, a 737, not the "new" 340 :). What does it matter?

So!

If it does not matter to you then why the pointless response?

Please let the people who are interested in this (and other subjects/topics/posts) enjoy what is under discussion without your pointless interjections.

It just means we have to trawl ('Troll'!) through extra unwarranted and unnecessary responses that add nothing to the topic and just detract from the topic or discussion in hand.

And why are you so much concerend about a royal? I just said I saw a plane landing, no idea who was on board :). Get real mate!
