Which Blood Pressure Monitor To Buy?

Featured Replies

I know Omron is one of the better brands, but which model? I already have a wrist style BP monitor (cheap brand) and I'm not confident in it's accuracy, so need an arm cuff style, but probably  only something basic.

Omron are certainly OK.  I've had their HEM7200 model for several years and apart from changing the batteries once it's needed no attention.  Comes with a mains adapter anyway.

Does the usual functions - Systolic, Diastolic, Pulse and also detects irregular heartbeat and movement while in operation.  Has a memory function and will even take the average of the last three readings, which is useful.  The recommendation is to take three readings over a ten minute period and take the average.

I can't remember what I paid for it but it didn't seem excessive at the time.

Widely available from places like Boots or Fascino.

Lazada has the HEM7130 model for around 1800 baht, I think that's probably good enough for what I need.

Should be fine I think.  Omron have quite a range of BP monitors - differ in detail but all basically do the same major functions.

The HEM7130 has a mains charger as well, so no need to use batteries all the time.

I bought a HEM8712 from Boots and it works fine.  The batteries last ages (there was no mains adapter in the box but it will work with one)

Mine too came from Boots & has an enormous cuff.

The arm cuffs vary in size check it fits before buying
