PHUKET:-- A representative from the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO) (OrBorJor) has confirmed to The Phuket News today that the large piles of rubbish building up at Chalong Pier have now been removed and that a meeting has been scheduled for February 14 to discuss the issue further.

Acting Chief PPAO Chief Prasit Yotharak told The Phuket News today (Feb 9), “Chalong Pier is the responsibility of the PPAO and therefore it was our responsibility to remove the rubbish dumped there.

“We have now had a thorough clean up of the area following news on this issue being released,” he said.

How appropriate. A meeting to discuss more rubbish.

Not sure it looks much better.
What a dump that pier has become.
Dangerous walkway look like it could cut off some toes without much effort.

That is not the walkway in use to accommodate the tourists, but a side one, in use by boat staff.

Thai safety shoes will protect them!    i.e. thong sandals

Deleted, it seems ignorance is bliss here.

They have an amulet for it. Sure.

Think of how much money the OrBorJor could save by not actually picking up the rubbish, but by photo shopping the rubbish out of these photos.  Same with the pot holes on the roads.

Not any more!

Don't worry, I am sure it will be back soon for everyone to enjoy.

Is the trash hurting businesses around Chalong Pier? Phuket is known for trash piles everywhere. We drive out of our rented villa and trash piles on the street. Is this ignorance or lack of government working for the good of the people?
