NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 10 February 2017 (NNT)-Provincial authorities have been helping the flood victims in southern Thailand get back on their feet as soon as possible.

In Nakhon Si Thammarat, Department of Community Development Director-General Apichart Todilokwet visited Cha-uat district to present relief bags and financial aid to representatives of Child Development Centers in eight districts.

Apichart who serves as chairman of the Rural Children Development Fund said essential items and money will later be given to children as a means to support their education and daily lives.

In Songkhla, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension Songkran PhaKdikhong distributed crop seeds and relief bags to farmers and local residents living around Sathing Phra Peninsular. Their homes and farmlands were severely inundated last month due to heavy rains.

The Plant Protection Center of Songkhla is slated to send a team of experts to help farmers restore their crops and farmlands.
