PHUKET: -- Karon Police have confirmed to The Phuket News today that Australian tourist Thomas Keating attended Phuket Provincial Court on Friday to acknowledge his charge of reckless driving causing death for the jet-ski accident that killed his girlfriend of two years, Emily Collie.

However, it will still be a further four or five days until the court reaches its verdict on the case.

On Feb 9, Mr Keating accepted a plea of guilty to the charge of reckless driving causing death for the jet-ski accident in a move that police said would expedite proceedings against him.

Mr Keating was formally charged at Karon Police Station on Feb 9 with strong support from his family as well as from the family of Ms Collie.

Get your wallet out. How sad it is now February 20th and his g/f is buried by now. I feel for this guy but I think the full effect of Thai justice for what its worth will come down on you.

A shave and a tie certainly would not of hurt his chances of not going to jail.

BS! Just needs a wallet full of cash! (Now you mention Alcohol? Are you some sort of forensic expert or just missing your meds?)

In saying this he is easy pickings for the so called Thai Justice System. - Just ask the "Red Bull" Family!

EDIT:-

My condolences to Mr. Keating and both families, all of you do not need nor be subjected the the crap that goes on here in this totally misguided country!

Does that mean the court might find him innocent? The court's delay makes no sense unless time is needed to figure the "proper compensation" for the authorities.
