Brave Fox News Meteorologist Rescues Trapped Woman During Hurricane Helene Broadcast
Why, oh why do you have to bring your confrontational politics into every situation? Fox News involvement in this matter is purely incidental. The story is about Mr. Van Dillon. In this instance, it wouldn't matter if he were a fully paid-up member of the KKK. He acted like a hero and deserves to be recognised as one. Oh btw Mr. Van Dillon has had a long career in reporting on metrology including - guess what? - a stint at CNN. https://web.archive.org/web/20060417211643/http://www.cnn.com/CNN/anchors_reporters/vandillen.bob.html -

Yeah, the headline is a choice, but it does come directly from the article and they do live ($$$) on clicks.... And maybe they enjoy the absurdity of it as much as many in the forum😅 -

2021 study - Majority of uninfected adults show preexisting SARS-CoV-2 antibody reactivity
Cross reactivity with T cells is much more relevant than antibodies. That is T cells gained from exposure to other coronaviruses are protective for SARS-CoV-2 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10967880/#:~:text=The influence of cross-reactive T cells on SARS-CoV,responsible for reinfection [99]. -

Climate Protesters Target van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ in New Act of Vandalism
Perhaps now would be a good time to re-introduce the old fashioned stocks in an area, where all sorts of really rotten food could be thrown at the protestors. 10 hours a day for a month could do as a starter with no time off for a change of clothes or a shower. Let them see what it is like for a change to have filth thrown at them. quote from the OP. "“Future generations will regard these prisoners of conscience as being on the right side of history.” They are NOT prisoners of conscience, but prisoners of stupidity, their own stupidity. -

Proposal Needed for Legal Revisions to Foreign Land Leases
Sounds like a recipe for tyranny to me.... I can easily see people who only look to the here and now and to me, myself, and I not having a problem signing on. They don't care what happens 99 years from now, let alone 50 or less. What does a 60 year old care, as long as he gets an easy income off his property, and with no property tax now, until he dies. I haven't come across many here who plan or even care to think much about the generations that follow, other than maybe their immediate children. Most people I've asked, don't even hardly know much at all about anyone beyond their grandparents, so it makes sense that they wouldn't think much about the future of their own progeny. -

Looking for 6/7 seaters car in thailand
From 2021, no I don't drive that much, at most 10,000 km per year. The engine revs too much each time before switching to a low order. No idea what the car is worth, but maybe I can trade it in for a Toyota Cross without paying extra. Last week, I drove a Volkswagen T-roc and the automatic gear box and suspension were much better there. Of course I understand when you say can not compare, for that reason I am now more interested in a Toyota Corolla Cross. B.t.w. I'm now 77 year and I have been driving a car since I was 18, Mercedes Benz, Peugeot, Citroën, Toyota, Honda, you name iut. -

Grandmother and 6-Year-Old Grandson Killed in Collision with Car in Chonburi
The incident occurred on the morning of September 30, when a car lost control and collided head-on with a motorcycle, killing a grandmother and her 6-year-old grandson on the spot. The incident took place on the Bang Phra Reservoir road, near Thanayut Timber, in Sriracha District, Chonburi. At around 08:30, police were alerted to the fatal crash and quickly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found the lifeless bodies of Ms. Liap (surname withheld), 59, and her grandson, Nattanon (surname withheld), 6, who had been on their way to school. The motorcycle they were riding, a red-and-black Honda Zoomer-X, was found severely damaged nearby. The black Honda City car involved in the collision was discovered in a ditch beside the road, with significant damage to its front. The driver, Ms. Apinya (surname withheld), 30, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Eyewitnesses reported that the car, driven by Ms. Apinya, was traveling towards Khao Kheow, while the grandmother and her grandson were heading towards Wat Ta Po. The car driver suddenly lost control, veered across the opposite lane, and struck the motorcycle with tremendous force, causing both victims to be thrown from the vehicle. "I heard a loud crash and rushed out to see two bodies lying near the road. They were in critical condition, so I immediately called for emergency services," one witness recounted. Ms. Apinya later explained to authorities that she had been taking her child to school and, on the return trip, briefly blacked out. When she regained consciousness, rescue workers were already at the scene. Preliminary police investigations revealed skid marks near a curve, indicating that Ms. Apinya had attempted to brake before losing control and crossing into the oncoming lane. The authorities plan to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident. Picture from responders. CCTV below. -- 2024-09-30 RPReplay_Final1727685889.mp4 -

I am not quite sure what a 68 year old guard is expected to do at his age. Does yelling "Get Off MY Lawn!" still work?
