CAT Fibre - Router Password?

Hi,

 

So I tried all the default stuff listed on the internet for this device: admin/password, admintelecom/telecomadmin, root/admin, and other obvious stuff like my account number and pw as listed on the  contract.  No dice.  Does anyone know what they set the login and pw to?  This fibre access point+router is a Huawei HG8245H.

For future reference, there are two possibilities for the login/pw on the router.  Either:

 

login: telecomadmin

pw: admintelecom

 

or

login: catadmin

pw: admin@default

Cat technicians set it to CAT defaults, not manufacturer defaults. I think because they don't want users to do port forwarding unless they've paid for a package that includes it.

 

Stupid though, to lock the user out. What if one wanted to change the WiFi password, or DNS servers?

If the box is 'branded' then those credentials are made part of the custom firmware defaults written to the device.

 

Usually the credentials are included with the provisioning paperwork sent when you initially sign up. Otherwise you can just ask CAT for the setup credentials when you want to go in and change the WiFi settings. You can also then change the setup password on most boxes. The ISP has other methods for changing or resetting the box remotely, if they choose.
