Plug in hybrids

Featured Replies

Has anyone done the maths , as to the viability of owning a " Plug in " in Thailand .

I can see the benefit to owning a hybrid as long as your covering sufficient km , to save enough fuel to cover battery replacement costs , but because of the high cost of electricity in Thailand , and no night time cheap rates offered, would there be any saving ?

lm not overally concerned about the complete lack of public plug in points as the suggested range of the Mercedes C350e will be sufficient for my needs.

Any advice from other owners would be much appreciated.

Going to need to cover a lot of kilometres before any saving are felt, and you suggest that you are only doing short trips, so I doubt you will save one satang.

That would be a great application for someone who has room for a couple of solar panels and a grid tie inverter. Free charging at least during the day when the sun is shining.

Until then carry a very long power cord.
