Form 40sp - Aust

Featured Replies

Hello,

Im not sure what date to write for Question 12 in form 40 SP for Australian Partner migration.

Is it the date that --

** we decided to marry,

** the date we became serious OR

**the date we married!!

Thanks

Question 12 mentions the word 'spouse', if you look it up and you are married then the answer is obvious! If you are not married then when did you start having a spouse like relationshop?

Hi GPT,

Have you personally filled out form 40 SP??

If you have not, then you would not realise that many of the Questions are very similar and the wording can be confusing.

In addition, even if a couple is married, there may have been a period before the marriage that they were in an interdependant relationship.

Hence, Im asking for non-sarcastic, helpful advice.

If you cant answer the question. Then why bother posting?

Some forms are confusing but there is always a logical procession to them. You state in your first post that you are married "the date we married"

Q9 - fairly straightforward - when and where did you meet?

Q10 - The period of time after you met that you began your relationship.

Q11 - When did you decide to marry your partner

Q12 - when did you marry your partner

So in your original post

Is it the date that --

** we decided to marry, Q11

** the date we became serious Q10

**the date we married!! Q12

Hope that helps you

Check your PM.

Question 12 asks for the date you started living together on a perminant basis without any long periods of seperation. This would be the date that you started living together under the same roof.

Question 13 is the question where you will put the date of your marriage. Since you are sponsoring your husband you will be applying for a spouse visa, so for question 13 you will check Spouse and write the date and place of marriage in the spaces.

Q-9 When and where you first met. (you first knew each other existed)

Q-10 How long after you met did you decide to start a relationship (as in boy/girl friend)

Q-11 The date you got engaged (or decided that you wanted to spend the rest of your lives together)

Q-12 The date you started living together perminantly under the same roof without any periods of long seperation.

Q-13 The details of you marriage.

Hope that helps.

Question 12 is the date you started living together in a spouse like relationship without marrying. This, if you read the question, means the day you started living together in an exclusive permanant relationship without periods of separation.

If you did not live together prior to marriage, I would leave this blank...the wedding date is covered in question 13...If it is an issue it can be addressed at the interview stage.
