PATTAYA:--Pattaya city workers were called in to complete a badly delayed sewage pipeline project in Jomtien Beach that has residents up in arms.

Ten city engineers were on site March 3 on Jomtien Third Road near Siam Commercial Bank to complete work on the sewage tunnel project begun last year to prevent flooding and overflows of smelly waste.

PSI Engineering began work near the Grand Jomtien Hotel last year and was supposed to complete the job by now. Now several months delayed, the city stepped in to complete the job after residents complained loudly about ripped up streets and open sewers.

Its apparent something has happend, more work has been done in the last week than the last 6 months.

I want to know how much the guy in the photo gets paid, chest deep in smelly water.

In Mexico City they send divers down in suits to clear the drains dead bodies and all. The job is hazardous but the pay is good.

is this is just a pipe to take the sewer water further out to sea?

I think its repairs to the treated sewage outlet, there are a couple of lite up bouys about 400 m out where the outlet is.

Unknown as yet, at first glance it would seem the sewer water goes further out when the tide goes out yet comes closer in when the tide comes in. Physics or something?
