Monk ‘may have fled in early days of siege’

Dhammakaya Temple followers carry food and drinking water into the compound yesterday after the authorities ended their weeks-long siege in an ongoing hunt for its former abbot Phra Dhammachayo.

 

THE HUNT for wanted former abbot Phra Dhammachayo will continue after authorities admitted that he may have fled during the three-week siege of Dhammakaya Temple, officials responsible for the operation said yesterday.

PHUKET: Tired of huge bags of rubbish on the streets of Phuket’s busiest tourist town, Patong Mayor Chalermluck Kebsup is having a smartphone app developed that will allow the public to report with photos and GPS co-ordinates unsightly piles to be collected by a roaming garbage truck dedicated to responding to the complaints.

At least 40 killed in Damascus bombing targeting Shi'ites
