Looking at the extensive TV coverage this morning, some very sophisticated bits of kit on display, more likely coming from an Army barracks. RTP have not thought this through at all.

You certainly have a different opinion then one of the other red supporters on the forum he said they were so old (the tompson among others) that it was highly unlikely that they could be used. Personally i feel linking it to the temple even though this temple has links with Thaksin is crazy.

As always,Thailand is very quick to offer allegations, and very slow to produce evidence to back them up.

If it fits with the party line of, we are good and the others are bad, that is normally all the justification they need to spout drivel.

Expect to see more of the same soon.

Thai red shirts leader says 'It's time to get rid of the elite'

........

"This is already a war, but so far it is an unarmed war," said Ko Tee. "If there is a coup, or the election doesn't happen, then it definitely becomes an armed war."

"I want there to be lots of violence to put an end to all this," he said. "I'm bored by speeches. It's time to clean the country, to get rid of the elite, all of them."

The Army yesterday warned a hardcore red-shirt leader in Pathum Thani for making defiant and aggressive remark threatening the lives of two army generals on a community radio live broadcast.

.....

In the radio broadcast, Kotee reportedly said in a red-shirt radio program that he would mobilize followers to capture Maj Gen Wara Boonyasit, commander of the First Division of the Royal Guards, and Col Songwit Noonpakdi, commander of the 11th Infantry Regiment.

Ko Tee Admits Organising 'Red Riot' Forces

BANGKOK: -- A prominent Redshirts activist has admitted that he has been preparing an armed "underground" force in the event of a military coup.

"On the day Ms. Yingluck is removed from her position, my group will immediately begin our operation," Mr. Wuttipong warned, "Gunshots will ring throughout Bangkok. I want the establishment to think carefully before causing any further chaos".

Connect the dots.  Not hard to imagine he's behind this.

Yes, i seen it before .. they all do it whatever they think that benefits them they say. If they make claims they should not be to outlandish it will only make them less believable. Just like the minister of white lies during YL het reign.

Just hard to fathom that a notorious red leader on the run and with his home operating a radio station that his house will not be under heavy all round the clock surveillance. Even Yingluck get followed everywhere she goes. Yet he can sneak in weapons and store at the scene of the crime. Just dumb and incredible accusation.

These articles are from 2014. Surely the junta hasn't waited three years to investigate?

Again, the "authorities" have trotted out weapons cache photo ops here since the 1960's - some speculate that they often use the same weapons, but re-arrange them - when they start to feel some pressure. Perhaps some fortune tellers have been giving the 3-P's some "warnings"?

There does seem to be a lot of "activity" within the halls of power over the past few weeks; that is usually a bad sign.

It's Amulet Time.

It appears that there is something somewhat unusual and suspicious about the junta's claims. As other posters have said, then why wait 3 years ? Also this is hot on the heals of the other apparent find, alleged to be a further set-up.  Strategically had these claimed weapons hauls, and those before them, been allegedly for anti government sympathisers then I would have thought that if these stockpiles were part of an organised resistance movement, then "D-Day" would have been brought forward "by these anti government people' to minimise further discovery risks.

As the whole thing appears to be stage managed, due to these preposterous "finding"  and junta claims, then clearly the Thai people ( not the top 0.05% but the remaining 99.05% ) do not have much of a short to medium term future to look forward not only with respect to personal freedom but also given the downward trend of the economy as a whole.

Agreed.  He was never particularly coy about his intentions.  Despite him saying he would have done it years ago,  his followers will still say it was all bluster & mouthing off.  He didn't really mean it!

In which case they should be asked:       "So, is that why you were following him?  Do you think more  empty inflammatory promises of violence are the answer to Thailand's problems?"

But, wait, maybe they are right!   He had the guns and the words, but perhaps he just didn't have the guts.  All the critera were met!  ("This is already a war, but so far it is an unarmed war," said Ko Tee. "If there is a coup, or the election doesn't happen, then it definitely becomes an armed war.")

But no-one offered to lead the charge of the 600 into the valley of death for him,  while he just skipped overseas, presumably with the revolutionary nest-egg.

P.S. If he didnt take the bank account with him, then he would need some sort of rich benefactor, wouldn't he? I mean, an exiled revolutioary has gotta have something to live on, doesn't he?)

Funny how new, sophisticated and clean theses weapons always are. But every time one is supposed to be used by a redshirt it doesnt function or the person dont know how to use it. If you invest millions to get these weapons you will hide it in a known redshirts house, not in a far off farm hide away, right? I mean it makes total sense doesnt it ? I only have one question where did the weapons come from, these types of weapons can be traced. So why dont we ever hear where these weapons came from? If they were stolen when did this happen ? If they were smuggled into the country, how and by whom and where were it bought ? Strange thar every time someones popularity dives there is a plot to kill that person. Do he think people will like him more if he is a target. Is his selfesteem that low?

One problem has been the police force.  They won't investigate these things.  Remember when that guy famously escaped out a hotel window during a police raid?  Guess who tipped him off? LOL

And remember when the red shirts got a bunch of weapons from the police during a rally?  No resistance.  The police just let the protesters take them.

Police alleged Ko Tee’s gang plotted to assassinate government leaders

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha and Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan have been targeted for assassination by a group of men associated with leading red-shirt figure in Pathum Thani, Wuthipong Kotthammakul, alias Ko Tee, said Pol Maj-Gen Sombat Milinthachinda, deputy commissioner of First Region Provincial Police Bureau, at a press conference on Sunday.

The press conference was also attended by Pol Gen Chakthip Chaichinda, the national police chief, Pol Gen Srivara Rangsipromnakul, the national deputy police chief, and Department of Special Investigation director-general Pol Col Paisit Wongmuang.

War weapons seized from Ko Tee’s company in Pathum Thani a day earlier were shown at the conference. They include four M16 assault rifles, one M79 grenade launcher, one M2 carbine, one shotgun and five different types of guns together with about 5,000 rounds of ammunition. Three red-shirt flags were also seized.

Nine suspects were held in military custody for questioning. Their identities were not disclosed.

Pol Gen Chakthip told the press conference that the raid of Ko Tee’s company in Pathum Thani and search of a container yard in Samut Prakan followed an intelligence report that elements linked to Ko Tee were storing up illegal arms to stage violent incidents during the siege of Wat Dhammakaya early March.

Craig look at the photos and say whats missing? Ammo. Every time they get weapons the display everything including ammo. On these pictures there is nothing. To use these weapons effectively you need tons of ammo. The police likes to put up shows but actual work no thats too hard.
