BANGKOK: -- The Criminal Court on Monday agreed to a police request to issue arrest warrants for two suspects in the brutal assault on a boxing referee and the killing of a security guard at the Lumpini boxing stadium on Friday.

Deputy police spokesman Pol Colonel Krissana Pattanacharoen did not name the suspects, saying only that a suspect rode a motorcycle, attacking Udom Deekrajang, chief referee of the stadium, and shot to death security guard Anuchom Pratumma.

The court approved the warrants after examining video footage of security cameras at the venue.

The spokesman said the reasons of the murder are yet been known.
