Our happy picture this morning comes from Phitsanulok where a Thai woman has just celebrated her 104th birthday.

Reporters from Daily News caught up with the smiling face of Khem Runreuang who lives in the Tha Chang sub-district of the northern Thai province.

Daily News reported that she has all her faculties though she needs a stick to help her get about these days. She lives with her son Somkhuan who is the kamnan in the village. He is her 12th and last child.

Originally born in Ayuthaya the sprightly woman puts her longevity down to her simple Thai diet - she likes boiled vegetables, nam phrik (a spicy condiment made with shrimp paste), fish and "Kaeng Bon" a curry dish that dates back over 200 years itself.

Born in the time of Rama VI she has now outlived four Thai monarchs.

No comments I guess it rather scarred some of us older geezers as it would definitely exceed for some the just right time to pass on. She is handling 104 well in my case no thanks.
