Two injured when crane falls on roof of house

By The Nation

A woman and a man suffered head injuries when a part of a crane fell onto the roof of their rented house in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district early on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the upper part of the crane on Soi Lard Prao 31 slipped off and fell onto the roof of a house on Soi Lard Prao 29 at 12.25pm.

The crane, belonging to contractor JDCM, was being used to in construction of the third floor of a five-floor building.

The injured house occupants were identified as Banyen Phudamrong, 62, and Phayunsak Chankul, 33. Both were taken to Paolo Memorial Hospital.

The upper part FELL OFF...

Safety first most definitely does not exist in Thailand...   Thai as a whole do not care about anything...except themselves.....:saai:

Funny, in a strange way, when you see signs at every construction site saying that safety is their first priority. Obviously safety is something totally different to what I thought it was.

I recently passed a lorry that had Safety First written on the side. There were two men sitting on top of the driver's cab. Ignorance and idiocy knows no bounds here. It's not only down to a lack of education. It's a total lack of common sense. It is completely absent in Thailand for some reason. Very strange.

They care just enough to put those large signs up outside the construction site.
