Two killed, four injured in Bangkok street fight
By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Two people were killed and three injured in a deadly gunfight between rival gangs on Soi Pracha Uthit 9 in Bangkok’s Thung Khuru district late on Tuesday.

Police quoted eyewitnesses as saying they saw three motorcycles involved in a chase in the soi at around 11pm before they stopped and started fighting, culminating in the shootings.

Pol Colonel Chusak Techarakpong, commander of Metropolitan Police Division 8, said Chaiwut Nisaisuk, 31, died at the scene near his motorcycle with a bullet wound on his chest.

Chusak said four teenagers were injured and rushed to the Prachapat Hospital after the shooting. They were identified as Natthawut Daengdee, 19, Thanawat Chaemket, 20, Boritak Rujjariyanuchit, 22, and Natthawut Sinsetthi, 18.

Natthawut, who was shot nine times, died at the hospital.

Booncherd Nisaisuk, 53, the mother of Chaiwut, said she heard the teenagers shouting in front of her house, which was followed by gunfire.

Booncherd said her son left the house abruptly after hearing the gunshots.

Chusak said police had learned that Chaiwut had picked up a friend at a snooker parlour. The friend has yet to be identified and is suspected to be on the run.

The two then encountered the rival gang on two motorcycles and engaged in a gunfight, Chusak said.

Do the journalists at The Nation actually know what a teenager is?

Same as when they often refer to 20 something women as girls.

Math isn't a strong suit, here.

The gun carrying culture is alive and well,

belonging to a gang must have great magnetism, that strips all commonsense from the brain

that no thought about concequences and personal safety, registers,

I guess very hard to register when the brains concerned are the size of a PEA!

Probably go to different Technical Colleges.

Or did, at least.

...well that's a good reason for a shootout.

pity they didn't all succumb to their injuries ......

that would have taken 4 guns off the street.

And no doubt one of those cowboys has a policeman in the family who gave them their guns.

They might actually be on point if they are referring to the mental age and not the physical age.
