Woman, 71, arrested 12 years after warrant issued
By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Police on Sunday arrested a 71-year-old woman, absconding since 2005, in Bangkok’s Sai Mai district for alleged involvement in procuring workers to work overseas without a permit.

The arrest warrants for Nipaporn Naowarat had been issued by a court in Phu Khieo district, Chaiyaphum province, in April 2005.

Pol Colonel Theerachai Chamnarnmor said police nationwide have been ordered to arrest fugitives during the Songkran festival.

“After checking the arrest warrants for Nipaporn and her whereabouts, we found that she lived in Sai Mai district. She was arrested while walking in a soi,” Theerachai said.

The suspect will be sent to Phu Khieo for questioning.

They never make any damn sense...So I guess during other times of the year you need not worry about getting arrested.  After twelve years the cops still remembered that Nipaporn had a active warrant and all they had to do was look up her address...?  Why wait until Songkran to make the arrest...? Was October 10, 2016 a bad day for arresting people...?  I also question the twelve year old warrant... 71 years of age...I bet they consider her a flight risk too.........

Statute of limitations. What an absolute farce.

That only works if you are rich like the red bull heir.

There is none for the poor only the rich sons of scions that leave when their in trouble to cavort in the West. They do photo ops etc. to remind the Thai people where their place is and to keep the legal system updated on his whereabouts. As soon as the talk of a summons comes out he's flat on his back sick. Amazing Thailand.

Most likely told her to report into the station ,as they do,

then realized 12 years later she had not,<deleted> it we have

to go and get her.

I wonder how long it will be before 'the Boss' is arrested. Probably never.

No once a warrant has been issued SOL do not apply. It is an outstanding issue at that point.

...ops...the bridge tournament will have to be more discreet.
