BANGKOK: -- Ministry of Tourism and Sports will provide assistance to thousands of Thai tourists stranded at Suvarnabhumi Airport. It will hold an urgent press conference today .

The press conference is scheduled to take place at 1pm at Mots Headquarters on Ratchadamnoen Road.

The ministry is expected to provide some assistance for those who are abandoned by a tour operator. But is not clear yet what kind of support.

While police said nearly 300 people have made complaints at Suvarnabhumi Airport' police station.

Some of them went home but many are still waiting at the airport with a hope that they will be able to fly to Japan.

Hope dies hard maybe thats the reason they bought into this scheme in the first place.

I was getting a haircut once at my hair shop . they had sublet a spot for a travel agent. in the shop.  really just a desk.  they had sold a ticket overseas to an american i think........the ticket costed like 30000 baht . the next day when the ticket was to be picked up.  the desk was gone.
