BANGKOK: -- Ministry of Tourism and Sports will provide assistance to thousands of Thai tourists stranded at Suvarnabhumi Airport. It will hold an urgent press conference today .

The press conference is scheduled to take place at 1pm at Mots Headquarters on Ratchadamnoen Road.

The ministry is expected to provide some assistance for those who are abandoned by a tour operator. But is not clear yet what kind of support.

While police said nearly 300 people have made complaints at Suvarnabhumi Airport' police station.

Some of them went home but many are still waiting at the airport with a hope that they will be able to fly to Japan.
