BANGKOK: -- The election clock will start ticking next year and political parties will have five months to organise and campaign before the poll, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Wednesday.

After the election, a new government will be formed within two or three months, Prayut said.

Prayut said the process could start next year after the four organic laws necessary for elections were completed. At present, politics is on hold under an eight-month timeframe specified for the writing of the organic laws. There will also be a royal ceremony this year, Prayut said, although he did not specify what sort of ceremony would be held.

Prayut also urged everyone to respect the law, adding that the Constitution granted rights and freedoms for all, but the government still had to ensure law enforcement and prevent provocations that could lead to conflicts.

But, but but,..... he said a few minutes ago: “Thais believe too easily. Don’t trust anything before checking otherwise you will be cheated,”..........:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Nice turn of event now...

He stop'd promising, he is just predicting, much less embarrassing when the outcome doesn't come :passifier:

Next ... next ... next ... next ...

Millions will believe anything for an easy life.

The People of Thailand have been conned enough wouldn't U say General.................................................:coffee1:

The date will be set when the outcome is known.

in 2018, he will say 2019,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,we know he never lied before . We all love you Pee Tu you are our savior !!!!

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy: Expected . Anticipated

2018 something else will delay the elections

how many years has he been predicting this for? is there any point to the elections as the army chooses who can run and maintains overall control even after the elections.

He hopes more like.

The clock is ticking and his illegal regime is drawing to a close, and maybe a forced close.

Please please no elections. I want Gen Prayut to remain in power for another 20 years. He has been doing a good job, the pathways are cleaned, lottery tickets are at least Bt 80 (for single tickets at least!) things are working gradually but he needs to be even more stricter and use the section 44 more often. I reckon that if he runs the economy that the way he has been doing for another next 3 years, they will be a lot more bargains in terms of real estate and businesses that I can buy more cheaply.

  • 3 months later...

A Thai election is just like the Road Runner. With the good General being you know who, as he just keeps on trying to catch that dam elusive election.

Given he makes the sole decision you would expect more certainty than "predicts" however, in his condition its hard for his brain to knnw what his mouth will sprout next.

Campaigning will resume...... under the same conditons as during the referendum!

Aye, in some countries, they have election dates... Mr P has election predictions... Maybe, maybe not, someday, or another, one day... :clap2:
