Why do so many people say this? Do you think everyone that goes to the nick gets raped? He's a fuckin murderer mate I reckon most people will be giving him a wide berth to be honest.

Agree with you on the "drop the soap"comments that members think are funny. The murderer is also unpredictable,he will be left alone.

Agreed, plus prison is not the same in Siam as the West. Unless those guys had connections, I bet he doesn't even get a very long sentence. If it were drugs, bank theft, political or lese majeste on the other hand...

200 people turned up to watch the real life police soap they laughingly call a reenactment.....The reason for these reenactments is becsuse Thai police are iliterat and cannot read or write, they need a picture drawn for them

Are the chickens coming home to roost in this society? Is this type of crime a consequence of the excessive - nay, obscene - fawning over the male from the day they are born to the day they die?

In the absence of hard statistics, anecdotal evidence has to suffice, but it seems to me that violent and passionate crimes caused by a loss of self control are on the increase. If you go back 30 years when newspapers and media outlets were able to afford stringers in every corner of the country and had well-stocked newsrooms, there weren't as many reports of such crimes, unlike today when news groups have thin and stretched resources.

The adoration of the male also seems to have grown excessively in recent decades to the point where, in my opinion, it has become a cause for concern to the well-being of society as a whole. You can't have this unfettered allowance for every aspect of a person's behavior without there being some consequence -- the Little Emperor syndrome is the obvious one. The excessive fawning and absolute refusal to criticize the male has resulted in an ego so fragile that there are no thoughts of the consequences of his actions because he has never had to face them. Consequently, you have what we are seeing now -- a rise (in my observation) of violent crimes.

they are great at premeditating a murder, but they rarely premeditate the escape..., must of the time they are capture at a relative's home.

Age is just a number how about all these foreign guys with girls 35 yrs there junior. TIT

As far as I know they didn't marry the girl when she was a 15 year old child. If they had they would have been locked up.

I think you will find that the legal age to get married in Thailand is 20, or 17 years old with parental consent.

If I can't have her then no-one can, err except when I'm in prison. Enjoy shower time???

You're wrong on that one. Now everyone can, except him. He'll be the wife of many lonely hearts now for quite a long time.

Sorry to say that after close to 30 years in Thailand I have picked up some knowledge of the rules.
But if I wasn't sure about something I would probably Google it before coming out with statements that are not correct.

"Either of them should not be less than 17 years of age or should be in marriageable age in accordance to the law enforced from your home country. The Court may, in case of having appropriate reason, allow them to marry before attaining such age"

Sick man!

What worries me is, what are these people, capable of doing to foreigners?

In my own experiences. ..

Almost two years ago, whilst walking along, seeking accommodation, I was stabbed in the back during an attempted bag snatch by two Thai men, during the early evening, on a very busy main road, within a very well known city, where in fact, and just recently, a report of a Canadian man, was also attacked by Thais, in an attempted snatch robbery.

My incident was reported to and taken down by a drunk police officer, whilst on duty, and that was the end of that!

This place is certainly not the land of smiles and has become a very lawless and violent place too.

Personally, my young child holds me back from leaving, right now. But when I finally depart, which I certainly plan to do, I'll be, in part, very happy to leave.

Violence seems to me, a part of these peoples mind set and way of life. Fickle and brash both come to mind plus 'life is cheap'.

As my friend once said to m, before I departed for Thailand: "you are not Thai, so you are considered lower than the low. Remember that"!

His exact words.

Will it be a Country where no violence ever happens ?

Where no one ever gets robbed or attacked ?
