most large rental companies have a minimal amount of days to rent the car

if just one day the charge becomes insane.

You didn't mention you have a budget that is under the usual one day rental price!

How much is your budget for a one day rental?

There is no minimum rental period in Thailand.

There are a few roadside places in Pattaya that might do this. A couple on 3rd road and another on Pattaya Tai. Unfortunately I don't have numbers at the mo.

I rented a Vios from Hertz for one and two days on two occasions a few years ago. I paid a total of 500B per day, including zero excess insurance cover which, as far as I know, you never get from the small operators.
