This time of year most of them in that range I think would be full - esp if you want 3* for that price.

Cheapest I have recently been offered was 3200 and 3800 in the Sabai Resort.

Soi Bukhao was mentioned to me but I want somewhere a grade above that - not snobby about it but its my holiday and while I do not want 5* (get that enough on biz every month) I do not want guest house type accom.

If you find anywhere post it and good luck with your friends search

Areca Lodge worth a try.I think its a little pricier though than what you've quoted.

SR (formally Weekender) is a little over priced for the rooms on offer, many have the same aircon used pre-refurbishment. There are a handful of good hotels within a few minutes of Big C here, we got a room in one of those for about 2,200B inc breakfast without any booking on 24th Dec. That is a walking in price, no prior booking, discounted by 30% from their listed rate as I have a nice face.....
