Korean Bar-b-q

Featured Replies

The wife and me are looking for a Korean Bar-B-Q restaurant. I've seen some on Soi Thong Lo, but we don't want to walk in cold and take a chance. Does anyone have a recommendation, quality and pricing?

Thanks in advance,

-Orang

There's a 'little Korea' in Sukhumvit Plaza, Suk soi 12. Loads of Korean restaurants here, some specialising in dumplings (yum!).

I can't remember the name of the one I usually go to though. As you walk in, it's on the right hand side, past the resto with eel tanks, near to the back. Fairly big and clean inside. Price-wise, I think it was under 1000 baht for the 2 of us, ordering a mixture of barbeque ribs, omelette, soup etc. and beer.

Sukhumvit Soi 12 Korean Town-- has some really good bbqs can't remember the name the one I've tried, but my Korean friends told me they're all nice.

There's one not far from the pak soi of Thonglo (Sukhumvit) called Seoul and that was nice and pretty reasonable.

the one that bkkmei mentions as having eel tanks outside is also excellent too - not for Korean bbq but for its particular speciality - Mandop (Korean dumplings). This place seems to have a very Korean clientel too which I guess is a good indication of its authenticity. The nearby place that bkkmei mentions is also very good for korean bbq and your usual Korean staples - bibimpbab, seafood pancakes and the vast array of side dishes.

Hi I know a Korean restaurant at SV City which is at Rama 3.

Only Korean people there so it must be good.

If you take a taxi tell the driver to goto : Paraam Saam, Raan ahaan Bua khrap.

Do not go inside (to raan ahaan Bua) but instead let him drop you off at the shopping entrance.

Go inside the shopping centre and take escalator to the first floor (maybe second).

There is also a huge spa there where you can enjoy really good massage for a low price (300 Bath 2 hours).

There is a Korean (small) supermarket where you can buy real good Kimchi and other Korean food!!

Enjoy!!

Alex
