I'm in the market to buy a 150 cc motorcycle, I see a lot of Honda CBR 150's around. Are they the best overall bikes around? I read a thread awhile ago saying that the quality of the Honda bikes has gone down, and that the better built bike was the Yamaha...is that a known fact? For that matter how are the Suzuki's. I do not want an automatic. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

The Honda is still being made in the 150cc CBR and it is quite fast for it's size.

For daily use the step thru bikes are easier to ride and offer a more comfortable sitting position and a much better turning axis.

Take a look at the Honda Sonic 125cc , or if you can find a Suzuki Raider 150cc step thru.

If you're shorter than 5 foot 4, buy a stepthrough. I'm 5 foot 9 and the CBR150 easily lets me put both feet flat on the ground with room to spare. If you need a shorter turning radius, maybe you want a bicycle. The bulky look is due to the ten liter fuel tank, but it's still lightweight, with two disk brakes, mag wheels, tubeless wide tires, full fairing, water cooled - nothing under 400,000 baht beats it (and that would take you up to BMW 650 range). Top speed is about 145 indicated.

No, I've heard no report in the last 24 years that Honda's quality has gone down. My CBR150 will turn 40,000 km next week, and there hasn't been one 'quality' problem yet.

The Sonic 125 and Suzuki Raider 150 are excellent choices, too.

PeaceBlondie,

I see that you live in Chiang Mai. I plan on buying the bike when I move to CM from Bangkok in the comming months. What dealer to you recommend in CM? Are there seperate dealerships for Honda and Suzuki, or is there one that carries all makes?

Thanks,
