Extension based on retirement.

Featured Replies

I have just returned to Thailand after two weeks away and have some questions.

On the Arrival card, it asks for visa number. I didn't know what to put, so put the number from the expired Non O that I used for my retirement extension.  Was this correct?

I did my 90 day address report on 12/04 and the paper stamped in my passport day next one 09/07. Will this stay the same? Or do I have to recalculate after being away?

Do I now count 90 days from my re-entry today?

Providing I keep on doing my reports, does my extension based on retirement just keep on rolling forward? The only thing I have to reapply for being the Multi entry permit when that expires after one year. Is that correct?

TIA

You should have written the re entry permit number there..

You put your re-entry permit number on the arrival card in the space for a visa number.

Your next 90 day report is due 90 days from the date you entered the country including that day in the count.

You have to apply for a new extension of stay every year. Then get a new re-entry permit.

No, you should have entered the re-entry permit number there. Most people also writes "re-entry" next to the field to make it clear to the Immigration officer, what he should look for.

The 90 day report is a report of having been in Thailand continuously for more than 90 days, so when you leave the count resets. So your next report is due 90 days from today, with today being day one.

No, when you applied for an extension you were given permission to stay until a specific date (look at the stamp in your passport). You have to apply for a new extension within the last 30 days of your current permission to stay, nothing is "rolled forward" automatically.

The only number I can see on my re-entry permit is 97/60. Would that be it?

To apply for a new extension of stay, do I have to get another Non O first?

There should be other numbers before the 97/60 in the number.

No need for another non-o. You will need the financial proof and all the other copies you had when you applied for your current extension.

I have not had a re-entry permit in many years but could it be the 97th permit of year 60 if obtained very early in the year?  Don't believe they have any set number of numerals.

The 97/60 may be correct. Just looked a pic of one and it only has one number before the / in it.

Some offices may put other the file number in front of it also.

There are no other numbers on my multi entry permit other than the 97/60, which I will use on any future arrival cards.

Just looking through my passport, and my extension based on retirement stamp also has a similar formatted number :  107/60

Thanks everyone for your input.
