Buying IP cams from AliExpress

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've recently been looking for new IP cams, brand Hikvision. I've been searching both on AliExpress and Lazada. Seems like Lazada does not have the latest models.

I'm particularly interested in the DS-2CD2342WD-I which is a 4MP WDR EXIR Turret Network Camera. I can buy it of AliExpress at 3770 baht. Lazada is not able to provide me this camera and most of the interesting ones are not latest models and frankly expensive between 4000 and 7000 baht.

So eventhough Lazada has my preference, I am however more keen on the newer cams via AliExpress.

Total price would be around 10000 baht but the vendor on AliExpress is willing to lower the value of the package.

However, I'm a bit nervous on the delivery (goods getting stolen in the process, or simply lost..) and also the Thai customs and taxes that I might have to pay upon delivery.

Anyone been through this whole thing and willing to give me advice?

Thanks!

Bates

Shipping is fairly slow from China, but everything I've ordered from AliExpress has been delivered with no issues at all.

same for me as well but sometimes shipping quicker than they promise, have had no problems with them at all over many purchases

Never been charged any from either Lazada or Aliexpress.

Hello! I wonder how did your experience end up... any charges at customs? Everything ok? I'm buying something in AliExpress as well and it would be nice to know about recent experiences ;)
