Honda Main Dealer Service/Repair Recommendations?

Featured Replies

I normally use a local guy, but since my PCX needed a new head bearing replacement I decided to go main dealer to be sure it is done properly. The Niyom Phanit branch on Mahidol road is closest to me, so that's where I have taken it.

It's been there for 2 weeks now, apparently still waiting for the parts. It beats me which African country the parts must ge winging there way from, but I do know that I won't be using them again. Can anyone recommend a Honda main dealer that provides non-useless service?

I have used Nat Motors for 5 years. Bought my PCX and CRF from them. Also ordered parts. Other than having them leave the chain tension alone, I have been satisfied. Check bike over after returning home - no issues so far.

I use the Honda dealer on Chiang Moi Road, a block west of the Gate into Wararote Market. Although the front only looks like the typical sales shop, they have a HUGE 10-bay repair area behind it, with five+ lifts, and a large well-trained staff of mechanics.  Bike comes out of there running like new, and washed and waxed as well!

There is also the Honda dealership on the same road as McCormick hospital.  Good workshop out the back and the beauty about it is that the parts dealership (warehouse) is only 2 buildings away.

Very good work at fair prices (A lot cheaper than the West). Guy in charge of the workshop speaks reasonable English too... which was a big plus to me as my Thai is pretty poor!

Just to add a little to my experience with Niyom Phanit: It took 3 weeks to finally get my bike back... Very reasonable price at 1500 Baht, but way too slow and even then they didn't put it back together properly - brake and clutch levers at ridiculous angles on the bars and both tyres inflated to 50lbs - it felt like a bone shaker.

Oh well... lesson learned.

Actually...  it appears that I have been too generous. Taking the bike back today to have the steering straightened. they have managed to put the steering back on at a "jaunty angle". at first I thought I was imagining it, but no, it really is out of alignment. I have no idea how this can be, but they are going to need to fix it!  It's not just a little off, it really is quite a lot.

You received 3 recommendations which you thanked people for, why don't you try one of those places?

It seems pretty clear that you and Neyom Panich are not getting it together.  Move on.

It is not that unusual to have some parts that need to be ordered from Bangkok and that can take often take a week to 10 days, and longer if Honda Bangkok needs to order the parts.

And for most bikes 250cc or below, I also have had good service from Nat Motors on Huay Khao, just west of Maya.  I drop off my ride, walk over to Maya to watch a matinee movie, and then walk back to pick up the bike.

So charming...  I will be happy to move on, but first have to deal with this mess - with those that created it fixing it. Thanks for your constructive and helpful input though.

They are all wrong and you are all right of course.  Good luck. Hope it does not go FUBAR.

Small issues, fixed in 5 minutes. Do you speak with the service writer or the head mechanic? In Thai or English?
