My Kindle Paperwhite Stopped Working.

Featured Replies

As I tried to turn the page on my kindle it just stopped, I can do anything else with it except turn the page, anyone know what could have happened, or where I can get it fixed? Or if I cannot, how to get another make of electronic book?  Thanks.

Have you tried to reset it? Might be a software issue. Have happened to me twice. Once when I pulled up a Dictionary item, once after charging.

If you cant fix it, use the Kindle app on either IOS or Android.

Can you tell me how to do this please?

Restart Your Kindle Paperwhite. Many issues with your Kindle, such as a frozen screen or issues with downloading content, can be solved by restarting your device. Help for Kindle Paperwhite (5th Generation). Press and hold the Power button for seven seconds until the Power dialog box appears, and then tap Restart.

+1...I had my 2013 kindle paperwhite screen freeze up on me a coupla days ago, first time...kept my head on and just did a re - start by holding down the 'screen off' button...

it's easy to to panic in these situations...if I lost my kindle 'I would be faced with an insuperable void in my existence, etc, etc...' just had a pal come out from the US with a new one so I'll retire the current one to use as a back up if something serious happens...

and fergit them smartphone kindle 'apps'...it ain't the same cuddled up in bed and trying to read...I can do without sex but I can't do without my kindle...

Agreed. The Kindle Paperwhite is better than the Kindle app. However it's better than nothing.

You just go to the Apple store or Google play store and download it to your device.

Then you upload your books to the app.

If you have a good device not too small not too big like an Apple Ipod Mini its a good alternative.

Thanks, I did what you said, now it's OK. Thanks again.

I had problems with my Paperwhite twice. The first time the restart worked, the second time I had to do a reset. The reset removes everything you have in the device. I had my books on Calibre so putting them back on the Paperwhite was no problem.
