Hi

I am just finishing 30 days visa exemption + 30 days extension. Now I will leave Thailand for 3 months (as I am not a dog that will go Malaysia for 4 nights and risk my life in a minibus. They don't want me, I go...).

When I will come back in 4 months from now, is it sure I will be allowed for 30 days, the have the ability to extend for 30 days?
Thanks for your help.

Unless you have done several visa exempt entries in the past you should not have a problem entering the country.

I agree with UJ above on your planned 4 mo-out and return on visa-exempt, but just to be sure, have 10K Baht worth of Cash or Travelers Checks on your person.

If your longer-stay out of Thailand is due to this sentiment, be aware of a few factors:

They do not want you doing a lot of entries on Visa-Exempts - true.  But entry with a Tourist Visa is a different thing altogether.

Airport-Immigration is increasingly difficult - even with Tourist Visas on quick-turnarounds and/or longer-stays per-year - but not most other points of entry.

Even at airports, if you have 20K Baht worth of cash or travelers checks with you (not on plastic), and can answer some straight-forward questions (what you do here, where your income originates), you will likely be fine entering with a Tourist Visa.  If you don't want to deal with the possible longer questioning, enter by land and simply show the cash, if asked.

But in any case, if traveling from Thailand to Malaysia, you have many options other than mini-bus - these vary depending where you are in Thailand.  I generally fly out to Penang, obtain a Tourist Visa there, then take the train back to Thailand, crossing at Pedang Besar, then fly to my final-destination from Hat Yai (if I don't feel like doing the overnight-train to Bangkok, which isn't bad).

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I am leaving after 60 days just for visa questions, as I didn't want to go Malaysia or so, for a tourist visa. Makes no sense doing those runs. I don't understand they don't ask 1900thb/month and that is.

Anyway TIT. If I am not happy I leave. It's what I'm doing.

4 months pause at home then probably 30+30 days again.

Good to know things better with 20k per person. Is it ok if euros?

BTW, a last question, in 48h I leave the country, I am not in overstay, but baby is. There should be no worries right?
Thanks much for your help.

They will accept the equivalent of 20k baht in euros.

Your baby will not be fined for an overstay since they are under 15 years old but they will get an overstay stamp. You will experience a short delay on departure while they do the overstay stamp.
