Deep in distance and depth.  I am pretty sure they tunnel like gophers down there and only a small percentage of the underground tunnels are found

I recall walking across the border into Mexico at Chula Vista/Tijuana, no authorities to deal with, just walk through the gated turnstile.

I haven't done this since the 1990s, though.

Did the same in 2004.  Can't speak to what is there now.  No doubt a lot of signs and warnings about Americans not being able to re-enter without proper documentation, i.e. Passport, etc.  ID of course no longer enough for several years now.  Looking online, it looks like things are basically the same.  Walk on in
